Schedule Templates
Schedule templates let you stamp a full construction schedule onto a job in one click — no rebuilding a 100+ task list from scratch every time.
What are schedule templates?
A schedule template is a reusable library of tasks organized into phases. Once stamped onto a job, those tasks become that job's schedule — you can then track progress, assign trades, and generate variance reports from them.
Built-in templates
Lotwright ships three built-in templates pre-seeded at signup:
- Standard Slab Build (~108 tasks across 8 phases)
- Standard Basement Build (~121 tasks across 8 phases)
- Standard Crawlspace Build (available in Settings → Schedule Templates)
The phases map to standard homebuilding stages: Pre-Construction, Foundation, Framing, MEP Rough-In, Insulation, Drywall, Trim & Finish, and Closing. Each phase has generic, trade-neutral task names you can rename to match your terminology.
Stamp a template onto a job
- Open the job and click the Schedule tab.
- If no schedule exists yet, click Stamp a Template.
- Pick the template that matches your foundation type.
- Click Stamp — all tasks from the template are copied into the job's schedule.
Stamping creates an independent copy of the template's tasks on the job. Future changes to the template don't affect already-stamped jobs.
Note: You can only stamp one template per job. If you need a different template, you must delete all existing tasks first (Settings → Job → Clear schedule).
Task statuses
Each task moves through four statuses:
- Pending — Not started yet. Default state.
- In Progress — Work has begun.
- Complete — Work finished. This is what drives the Schedule Variance report.
- Skipped — Not applicable to this job (e.g., a basement task skipped on a slab build).
Tap any task row to update its status. Trade partners can also mark their assigned tasks complete from the Trade Partner Portal.
Assign trades to tasks
On each task row in the Schedule tab, click the vendor dropdown to assign a trade partner. Only vendors in your Vendor Directory who have been invited to Lotwright appear in the dropdown — uninvited vendors show in a separate "unlinked" section.
Once assigned, the task appears in that trade partner's portal. When they mark it complete, it updates in your dashboard automatically.
Create a custom template
Go to Settings → Schedule Templates and click New Template. You can build a template from scratch or import one from a CSV. The import template CSV shows the required columns.
Once saved, custom templates appear alongside the built-in ones when stamping a job.
